Our relationship with mvd has been a happy one.
MVD is frankly the best restaurant in Wilkes-Barre. The inspired cooking of Valeria Sartor and the considerate, genteel service of her husband Sal Deluca make dining at MVD an absolute delight.
And so it has been a joy to collaborate and offer monthly classes at MVD. Over two and a half hours, we taste and discuss 5 Italian wines expertly paired with 5 small plates from Val’s wonderful kitchen.
The mood is convivial as we explore together in a discussion format the varying styles of wine which Italy has to offer. The classes are serious but fun, challenging but comfortable. The goal is for participants to come away feeling more confident with their own palates while having a deeper appreciation for what makes a wine truly worth drinking.
